Children can join Lemon Tree Montessori from the age of 2 years old and attend until September following their 5th birthday although many children leave when they go into Reception. Many younger children begin by attending a minimum of two morning or afternoon sessions per week although some children are ready to attend full time straight away especially if they have been at a Nursery/childminder before: we take care to help your child settle in happily and quickly and provide parents with daily feedback during their first few weeks.
From age 3 we require a minimum attendance of 15 hours (all year) or 18 hours (term time) so that your child gets the most of the Montessori curriculum in preparation for starting school.
All children incorporate the Early Learning Goals of the Early Years Foundation Stage during their time at the Nursery as well as the full Montessori curriculum. The exercises that the children choose from are designed to prepare them for reading, writing and number work so that a very natural progression is achieved.
The staff : pupil ratio means that there is a high level of individual attention. Our success is apparent in the confidence and abilities of pupils when they leave the Nursery. Our minimum staff : pupil ratio is 1 : 4 for 2 year olds and 1 : 8 for three years old.
We use "My Montessori Child" interactive software to track children's progress and development. Parents receive a secure log in and password and at any time they can view the child's learning journal, make comments, add observations from home, as well as find home learning suggestions based on the child's current interests.
Children are accepted on a first come first served basis. A Waiting List applies at the school when at a particular time all the available places are taken. However, we try to accommodate each child and each parent who wishes to register where possible. Parents are always very welcome to visit the school and visits should be arranged by calling the school
on 020 8651 5061.
Children are accepted upon receipt of the signed registration form (can be downloaded above) and non-refundable registration fee of £50.00, plus a returnable deposit of £150, total £200.00. These can be paid by cheque or directly into the Nursery’s bank account (details are on the registration form).
When the registration form and the deposit/registration fee are received by our Office, we send out the confirmation letter which means that the place has been reserved. We also ask parents to complete a medical questionnaire before the start of the child’s first term.
Please download, complete and return the Registration form (below) in order to register your child or add them to our waiting list.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit to see the nursery and meet our staff, please complete the Contact form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
