Children can join Lemon Tree Montessori (Sanderstead, South Croydon) from the age of 12 months old and attend until September following their 4th birthday, although occasionally we can extend attendance until September following a child's 5th birthday.

We take care to help your child settle in happily and quickly and provide parents with daily feedback during their first few weeks.

All children incorporate the Early Learning Goals of the Early Years Foundation Stage during their time at the Nursery as well as the full Montessori curriculum. The exercises that the children choose from are designed to prepare them for reading, writing and number work so that a very natural progression is achieved.

The staff : pupil ratio means that there is a high level of individual attention.  Our success is apparent in the confidence and abilities of pupils when they leave the Nursery. Our minimum staff : pupil ratio is 1:3 for under 2 year olds, 1:4 for 2 year olds and 1:8 for three years old, although we aim to maintain higher staff:pupil ratio for older children.

Children are accepted on a first come first served basis. A Waiting List applies at the school when at a particular time all the available places are taken. However, we try to accommodate each child and each parent who wishes to register where possible.

Parents are always very welcome to visit the school and visits should be arranged by calling the school on 020 8651 5061.

Children are accepted upon receipt of the signed registration form (can be downloaded below) and non-refundable registration fee of £50.00, plus a returnable deposit of £150, total £200.00. These can be paid by cheque or directly into the Nursery’s bank account (details are on the registration form).

When the registration form and the deposit/registration fee are received by our Office, we send out the confirmation letter which means that the place has been reserved. We also ask parents to complete a medical questionnaire before your child starts (can also be downloaded below).
